About flying

There has been a lot written about RCA flying. There are more categories of it. Most of all about splitting to the categories you may find on the official web-page of Association of Modellers of the Czech Republic, particularly in the Club of Aeromodellers.

There are some more pages of this kind,as i.e. RCmania of David Kyjovsky.

Moje hobby, modelářská diskuze where you may discuss different issues.

I consider the trainer-pages of the aerobatic categories F3A and RCA to be of very good quality..

About my flying.

I am attracted by acrobats most of all. That is why I deal with indoor acrobacy. Airplanes for it are powered by electric motors. Further I fly KATANA F3A electro and Leviosa - the outdoor acrobats. Both are powered by electric motors. You find more details in "About my planes".

I try to train as often as possible. For example before the Czech RCA Championship I was training every day a week. Basically I fly always whenever I want or the weather let me to.I train indoor in the sport hall regularly 1-2 times a week, mostly in winter, during the indoor season. I fly also in our street, in front of our house, sometimes 5 times a week. I use also the flight simulator, either for the late flights or when testing of different (crazy) ideas is needed.

We go for training and flying to different places:

Airfield Hoskovice

There is perfect concrete runway, but very busy air-traffic.You are allowed to enter the airfield with the entry permission only.I recieved one as a member of Modellers' Club in Mnichovo Hradiste.

Sports Hall Turnov

Very nice place for indoor training. We organised already four indoor race "Turnovska halovka" there. It has one big advantage - just 2 minutes drive from my home.

"Airfield" in Premyslova Street, in front of our house in Turnov

I exclusively fly there, father doesn't want to hazard, so far. Take-off from hand,or my room-window, although the motored EPP makes it also from land. Advantage - switch the motor on in my workshop - 30 steps - and fly!
